President's Message
Summer is here and the sun is out, but BEWARE! Germs don’t take vacations. Warmer months bring increased travel, large gatherings, and seasonal pathogens — all of which make your expertise indispensable. Summer heat brings foodborne illness and vector-borne illness (mosquitos and ticks), so grab your bug spray, stay hydrated, and don’t forget to wash your hands!
I am looking forward to my work “vacation” to Nashville, TN for the National APIC conference. I am hoping to learn new infection prevention strategies, ideas from research, and find opportunities for collaboration to bring back to our Chapter. I am also looking forward to showing off our 2026 Chapter Excellence Award!
